Come and say hi!

It’s been a fun filled year so far, but despite being super busy I still found time to celebrate my birthday – which just so happened to be on Shrove Tuesday, the best day ever – with a fantastico pancake birthday cake yay! Smudgy even dressed up for the occasion!

After spending a few days recovering from all those pancakes I headed over to Cardiff Student Union on Monday where I had a sweet little Tinkers stall as part of The Clothes Exchange event – it was a really good fun, with lots of lovely people swapping their clothes and sipping beers to the Glee soundtrack! I speed wrapped all of the purchases with tissue paper and special tinkers stickers to avoid creating too much of a queue, phew! It was a brilliant night and I hope that anyone that couldn’t make it will try and come to Vintage Pretty @ Buffalo on Saturday as I’m certain it will be amazing! And I’ve made lots, lots, lots, of new things ready for the upcoming spring/summer season!

I will try and post the pics of past events asap for those of you that couldn’t make it, and make sure you keep your eyes open for a sneaky look at the new items, yay exciting!
Bye for now though, I need some sleep!

November Rain

Wow, it’s been busy in the Tinkers workshop!

Early Christmas orders have been pouring in, and in exciting news, a collection of fantastical new products will be online this weekend yay! Including my favourite – ‘Trapped in Time’ a hand embroidered butterfly enclosed in a vintage watch case, on a lovely antique gold, belcher chain…..

If you fancy a screen break, why not come and say ‘hi’ at the next ‘A Fashionable Af’Fayre’ in Le Pub, Newport on the 5th of December, also in exciting news I have just found out that there is a Tinkers sized space for me at the ‘Buffalo Boutique Market’ in Cardiff (keep a sneak for further details), whoop!

Plenty of excuses to spend your pocket monies!

Whirlwind Weekend!

Phew!

Thanks to all who came to the stall at A Fashionable Af’Fayre, it was a brilliant day, I’m only just about recovered from a hectic weekend of baking, selling and having fun!

The night before was spent making hundreds of tags ready for the event, to make sure it all looked extra lovely. Because I managed to con my long suffering boyman Nick to help, I was also able to make a cool little shelf unit for display too!……..I got up just before 7am on Saturday (not so nice) to make sure there was enough time to bake a billion cookies (or a hundred to be precise) for the Mixed Up Mongrel stall before the event – luckily my good friend Ang Harker (also known as ‘Hurricane Harker’, or ‘Hammer Hands’, due to her clumsy ways, and ability to break all types of fineliner nibs) was on hand with a pot of super strength strong tea, along with Stubby, my partner-in-biscuit-crime.

We mixed, baked and packaged everything just in the nick of time, and while the cookies were loaded into the car I trotted up to the workshop to get all of the carefully packaged Tinkers for the stall, yipee!

When we arrived at the Fayre it was already full to the brim with vintage clothes, printed T-shirts, lovely jewellery, bric-a-brac, and so much more, but luckily Eleanor had saved us a brilliant spot next to her stall upstairs (thanks El!). With time running against us we managed to pull the stall together in time for the first customers of the day, yay!

The stall - and my little shelf - It looked a bit like The Borrowers had put it together - I loved it!

Lots of happy shoppers.

We spent time chatting to cookie monsters (the ‘Harold Chipman’ and ‘Cherry-me Kyle’ cookies proved very popular!) and Tinkers enthusiasts alike, whilst sneaking the odd peak at a stall.

Mongrels ahoy!

Mongrels ahoy!

Before we knew it, there were only a few crumbs left in the cookie basket, and the remaining Tinkers were beginning to feel a bit lonely, and so it was time to start packing up, although not before I’d managed to buy a pretty insane pair of vintage teddy bear shoes for £15, and an odd video called ‘Something Wicked This Way Comes’ for 30p, bargain!

The craziest shoes ever!

A great time was had by all – if you missed it, shame on you!….. luckily though, it was so good that it’s going to happen the first Saturday of every month now, so make sure you come to the next one – I’ll keep you posted!

Anyhow – it’s back to the needle and cotton for me, too many Tinkers and not enough time to make them all!

Toodle-pip for now,

(And a big thanks to Stuart for pictures of the day, and to Tasha and Jo for helping with the stall!)

An Af’Fayre to remember!

An A'Fayre to remember!

Hooray, it’s less than a week now until this amazing event, it’s been all go at the Tinkers workshop making lots and lots of lovely things, limited edition lines, and packaging galore, as well as airing the bunting and dealing with orders, phew!

I’ve also been brushing up on my baking skills, for the fun launch of ‘Mixed Up Mongrel’ a cookie stall I’ll be running at the same event with my ‘entrepreneur genius’ friend Stubby. I don’t want to spoil all the surprises, but each flavour is inspired by a mixed up mongrel-like celebrity, sneak a peek at the graphics for my current fave – Nutya Buena, a coffee and walnut flavoured delight!

Nutya!

I think by Saturday morning I will be baked up and buttoned out, but it’s sure to be worth the hard work, so make sure you come and see us (and partake in a few drinks) at the event between 12-5 in Le Pub!

In other news, the lovely Eleanor Jane came for a visit today, to discuss an exciting project we have in the pipeline (don’t worry all will be revealed in good time!) and to take away a big box of brand new Tinkers goodies to photograph too! She left in high spirits after an afternoon of plotting and planning, with a freshly made Rose Darling in her hair!

Excitingly, Tinkers Infinity was on TV last week, as part of a programme the multi-talented Hana from Kooki Two Bit was involved in for ‘Uned 5′, on the Welsh TV channel S4C (check it out here – ten minutes in)! Take a look at the various bits adorning the models – Hana also wore her lovely British Bird necklace for the day too – thanks Hana! If you’re in the Cardiff area you should definitely pop into the Kooki Two Bit shop for a snoop around, for as well as stocking our tasty Tinkers treats, they also have loads of brilliant handmade items from a score of British designers!

…Anyhow, it’s time for me to clock out for today, but I hope to see you all on Saturday!

Bye for now,

Busy Buttons!

boxes and buttons...

Hello!

Welcome to my very first entry, yikes!

It’s been busy, busy, busy at the Tinkers workshop, where buttons, ribbons, and all kinds of trimmings of all shapes and sizes have been strung together in anticipation of ‘A Fashionable Af’Fayre’ – a cool one day boutique mini-market in Le Pub, Newport, on the 3rd October, where I’ll be setting up a stall – yay, exciting! It looks set to be a brilliant day, crammed to the rafters with vintage bits, tasty treats, zines, handmade treasures, and billions more! I’m also double excited to be running an awesome biscuit stall at the same time, yippee (more on this nearer the time)……

Not content with all of that, I’ve also been making some super top secret limited edition collections, inspired by a recent, very fun and exciting (albeit stormy) Famous Five-esque camping trip to North Wales, and some lovely old letters, so keep checking back over the next few weeks!

I hope you like the new website, if you have any questions or requests (or just fancy a quick chat!) feel free to email me flick@tinkersinfinity.com, or even better leave me a comment here.

Phew! I think I’ll call it day for now, but be sure to keep up to date by adding the Facebook group and following on Twitter.

Bye for now!
